Notes: (1) The portfolio reflects the fair value of securities as of end of last business day of the year. They represent the highest bid available, which may grossly underestimate the last traded price in case of some securities with very high bid/ask spreads. (2) Over time, the portfolio will suffer or benefit from non-market events such as cash redemptions or windfalls. (3) I use the S&P500 as the benchmark, even though I have large exposure to Canada. S&P TSX wouldn't be a good benchmark because it is overweight with commodity based businesses, which doesn't reflect the portfolio mix. (4) The portfolio is tracked in Canadian dollars, even though it is composed with a mixture of US and Canadian securities. (5) The portfolio performance is post capital gains taxes.
